Mana stat and it's importance

Hi,

Maybe coming with a stupid question, but to me it seems the mana stat is not really very useful. So this begs the question is it used in the damage calculations or what?

Your Mana stat is used everywhere that your spell proficiency is used, which is to say, it's used in calculating the effectiveness of all spells, damage or otherwise.

You might not notice the change as much because your Mana stat grows more slowly than your spell proficiency does, at least at lower levels of proficiency.

hmmm so probably at some point i can drop the wands and move to something else (although i still haven't seen righthanded shield)

You're right, you could, although you might not find it to be a net benefit.
