I like the idea of a multi-part, over-arching quest that a player can complete at their leisure as they level along. The new area mechanic reminds me too much of the Holiday Island, but alright, I can dig it. Personally I have zero problems with charging a player an arm and a leg to visit the island...

I understand what you mean regarding gear proficiencies, Will. :P One thing worth mentioning is that I made this thread to try and address the dearth of new equipment after level 40. Meaning, to give people something to help break up the grind or a mechanic with which to spend their time when they h...

Just a small UI inconsistency that I noticed: --Items that cost more than 999 gold in NPC shops (Artist's Hovel, Item Shop) have commas separating every thousand (1,000 or 800,000). --The Magic Shop and the Skill Shop lack this feature. Once again, this is a very small issue, but if possible, it wou...

So, the question on my mind is, is an upgraded item better than other items at that level? This will depend on both how quickly does the level requirement rise with each upgrade and on how many attack/defense points are added per upgrade. Lets assume that I take a Dagger (level 1, 4 attack) and upg...

I would encourage everyone to keep quality over quantity in mind when it comes to quests. Remember that the few quest archetypes that seem fresh and unique now will simply turn into grind under a different name if we end up tripping over them at every level. * For the quests that have drops, give qu...

Thanks for taking the time to respond Will! Regarding your twinking concern: each time an item is upgraded, its base level requirment (to equip it) is increased as well. Because of this someone will be unable to give upgraded weapons/armor with 150+ stats on them to their level 0 character. They wou...

Upgrading Items
I was a bit bummed to know that currently there's very little in terms of equipment beyond the High Class set. Because of this I thought that it may be easier to implement an option for players to upgrade the statistics on their equipment. -=The Basic Idea=- A player has a weapon or armor for which ...

Ah yes, either of the books (Cookbook or Statistics Textbook) are suspectible to bad luck. The second Cookbook I ever used exploded after giving me a recepie I already knew! 8) That said, you never have to worry about which character you use a book with (one who knows many combinations/recipes or fe...

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles Will. I'm having a hard time imagining that Game! would single you out and deny you the glory of Stick, so I blame Murphey and a string of really bad luck. The quests do que up as Hyppy said, and even if you complete the requirments for a quest without speaking ...

Just like you I only know that the Useless Trinket can be traded to the Master Pack Rat. I'm clueless as to what the Aluminium Pole is used for. i thought i remember he was just a head and torso at the end, so i did head and torso first.. but that didnt seem to work. Right, you are at the end of the...

The Pony Seed should be self-explanatory, although it does also have an additional use in helping create another pet. The Wise Sage sometimes gives instructions on how to recreate the BK. I recommend re-watching the particular scene from tQftHG and combining body parts in the same order they are bei...

Proposed change to Reserved Items and Stamina
Update 4/10: Dear Reader, scroll to the bottom of the post for the new ideas. I tried editing the rest, but it's still such a mess! Abandon ship, abandon ship, she's gonna blow! http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/7303/badpost.jpg Thank you for moving the swap box to the top of the swap shop. Makes th...

I think that's one good way of handling it. Talking about leveling up, would it be possible to maybe bold the message about how much exp and gold you gain after a fight? Less to convey that particular information and more to give you a clearer visual signal that the fight is over. Alternatively remo...

Interesting thought. I've clicked to the Pets page many times after seeing the level-up message to check whether my pet has hit 15 yet so I could level something else. The only problem I see is that adding the level would make that portion of text fairly big: http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/3076/...
