Stereotypically, if you were to escape from a prison, what would you use? Now, where you find something like that in Game!?

You mean like, lots and lots of toilet paper that you weave into rope?

Or perhaps a bedsheet? No, those are the "first pets".

Hmm... I'm not there yet.

I think you're closer than you think you are.

I got a lot of those and managed to create something really long, but after that I'm stuck. Any kind of hint would be appreciated.

This comment has the hint you're looking for: http://wittyrpg.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1863#1863

You can add me to the list of those who have found that having something really long does not necessarily guarantee ones access to the hole.

I've got a feeling I'm missing something obvious somewhere.

There's a lot of hints in this thread now. Try reading over it carefully.

I've actually either figured it out or found a bug, but can't verify.

I can now see the area inside the poorly lit pit when I click on it, but can't actually check it out due to being full and having -25% stamina

Are you sure? You can enter the Poorly Lit Pit (or at least, parts of it) while full and at -25% stamina.

It appears I can in fact navigate the area, with the exception of areas where assumedly there are encounters with enemies.
