Minor Life Drain

Post by Monso »

This skill takes 3 times as much mp as Blaze, doesn't leech HP, and does about half the damage.......what's the purpose of it?

That depends on how many HP the target has, Blaze does a fixed amount of damage (mod proficiency and resistance), but Minor Life Drain removes a percentage of the target's remaining HP.

it can be a bit confusing for anyone coming from any other game that has a * drain. usually drain in other games returns the drained hp/mp to the caster. but this isn't other games. this IS SPARTA! i mean this IS GAME! and also spells can sometimes be weaker at first until you've build up the proficiency. Meaning they get stronger the more you use them... to a point.

I've found the best use for Minor Life Drain is to cast it as the opener. So far, most of the time it does about the same damage as Bolt (or Freeze at earlier levels). However if anything it's worth casting because of its lower MP cost. The tougher a monster is, the more effective the Drain. For example I prefer to cast Drain twice on Centaurs and it's a killer spell against bosses.
