Tavern

Tavern chat works great. complete with /who and /me :D

would it be too difficult to have a name list on the side or at least an auto /who on join?

And /beer x to by x beers at the Tavern!
Beer could give some Stamina/HP but withdraw Attack/Defense.
It could also be cookable :)

Yeah the tavern needs booze!
Maybe so sort of drinking stamps :P

Well actually some sort, drink booze increase something/decrease another thing as a penalty.

The tavern would be a great place where as you drink, you get Game! hints, but lose stamina the longer you stay.

Yeah the main "tavern" is actually #game! at freenode, it's great for reading ramblings and "Rux... queue!"

actually i really like the idea of the game hints in the tavern too.. maybe a 'bartender' that randomly spews out interesting tidbits the way the wise sage does but less useful.. like hints on recipes "you know, sometimes i like to cook this and this together" or "i heard that the flaming chainsaw is weak to a freeze attack"

and on rare occasions some really good hints like where and how to get pets, or what different items do.. etc..

I'm not sure about tips... but beer is a must.

What is the point of a tavern in a rpg if you cant get drunk there.

<joke> you could also add driking EXP and level and a list of top drinkers at the wise sage (people like statistics) </joke>

Beer?!?! This calls for a new attribute: Klutz points! Drink enough beer and you become too inept to fight. Drinking on a full stomach reduces Klutz accumulation (you can drink more before becoming affected), and drinking just enough beer relaxes you enough to improve your battle/magic skills -- somewhat, a'la Drunken Boxing. Low stamina/low hit points makes you drunk faster. YMMV.

Of course, if you're drunk enough, just attempting to move from place to place in town or the world map will injure you from falling down hard enough...

Reality -- what a concept!

Also in 15% of times you try to go to a zone in a drunken state you end up fighting in a different zone.

And...

if you drink too much you only get 50% stamina the next day.
