Do you play Game! too? Maybe you should discuss it in here.

I'd like a hint.
I have gotten a gunky key. But that doesn't seem to let me in.
I have gotten a gunk remover. But there isn't a "use" option for it.
How do I unlock the basement?
> Unlock basement
With what?
> Unlock basement with key
Which key?
>unlock basement with gunky key
That key is too gunky to use
>use gunk remover on key
You don't know how
Sorry, I had a moment

Have you tried combining the two?

No, not yet. Why would I combine gunk remover, gunky key, and duct tape?

I see you made it into the Basement.
It's intended to be a difficult quest, however, it should be doable by the time you get there.

Normally life drain gives dimishing returns -- the first is a lot, and the second isn't worth it.
Here, I was getting strong drains for three or four drains, and even with that drain+heal I was still croaked.

At level 8, you might need some potions. By level 9 you probably won't need them.

K, sorry for the necro, but where the hell is the gunk remover? 2 days adventuring in the house, and I've got nothing.

It's in one specific area of the house. Of the options available, where would you most expect to find cleaning supplies?

I have to admit, I posted this with a motive, and it worked. first, thank you kindly. Second, the motive was that I'd get it the first adventure after I asked. Sure enough, it happened.
Its like lighting a cig after waiting an hour for the bus, and there it comes.
